Electronic Commerce System
The fifth and final recommended IT system for the record store is the Electronic Commerce System (ECS). This is an Internet-based system that allows transactions between two businesses (B2B), and transactions between businesses and consumers (B2C).
Disadvantages and Advantages

The disadvantages are that e-commerce has not reached every person in the world, it is not fitting for perishable merchandise, disclosure of personal information is required to place orders through the ECS, there is no instant receipt of the product, and returns or exchanges are time consuming. Although, many consumers and business have noticed that the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages, as it permits consumers’ the reach to the global market, and it allows more competition with better prices. For businesses ECS lowers business costs, accommodates to requests of various markets, and provides boost in earnings and sales (Bora, 2011-2012).
Analysis

ECS provides an excellent opportunity to open an online shopping component of the record store, especially because of the store’s nostalgic inventory, it would instate possible untapped well of revenue and should be met with serious consideration.
