Indeed the use of WLAN technology would enable The Athlete’s Shack to manage the instances when it has to deal with high volumes of inventory. This is because this technology would ensure that employees are able to put in place a checkout process that would benefit especially those customers who prefer the use of a credit card as opposed to paying for their purchases using cash (Fosso et al, 2008).
In addition, the use of iPads would be essential in ensuring a faster check out process since it would enable employees to scan whichever purchase that were small in nature were made using credit cards. In this way, the technology would ensure that the employee was able to take the payment and complete the transaction in a fast and efficient manner (Singal, 2010). In the case of those customers making bigger purchases using either cash or cheques, employees can be in a position to print out tickets and provide them to the customer who would in turn only need to have the ticket scanned and present their payment to the employee as opposed to having these customers stand in a queue for a long period of time (Olenewa, 2013).
