This method was chosen as by using the knowledge of staff it is valuable when looking for new information and not pursing information they already know. For example with the survey and experiment research, staff may already know what customers want or what their opinion is on certain products or services.

Experiment – An experiment is conducted to find out if a particular product would sell better if placed in view of customers and merchandised correctly. By observing it lets us know if there is demand for that product once customers acknowledge the product is available. It is very easy to set up, the product needs to be placed and merchandised in an area of the store where there is a lot of traffic. The quantitative sales data needs to be measured weekly and compared to previous sales to acknowledge if there is a difference. This method was chosen as after analysing the competitions product range through internet research we can used this research method to see if the product is viable to stock.

All our market research will be highly confidential, any information collected will be kept securely and will be for research purposes only for D.A. Garden Supplies. Customers will also be informed that their information will be kept confidential as under strict privacy legislation.
