Textbooks VS Tablets
Teachers are always assigning homework in the textbook and of course every student complains. Not only because they have homework, but because they have to lug home multiple textbooks. Many school districts have been trying to find a way to solve this complaint. What school board officials have come up with is replacing the textbooks with notebook computers or tablets. It is the 21st century, there is technology booming everywhere. However, converting the notebook computers might not be the greatest decision.

The teacher may never find out. The school would have to have some sort of software that blocks certain applications or the students from doing so (which adds to the cost of having notebook computers instead of textbooks).
Another reason why exchanging textbooks with tablets might not work is out is because not everyone is on the same level of experience when it comes to technology. It can be discouraging and difficult for the less tech-savvy students and teachers. It would take up class time if the teacher had to go around the room and explain to the students what button to push (Fletcher). They would need to offer a class that assists students in learning how to use the “mechanics and operating system” (Fletcher). There are classes offered in schools that teach students how to use certain programs like Microsoft Office, however it does not teach them how to use the device itself. People may be able to just grab a tablet for their first time and no how to use it, while others will look at it like it is a rubik’s cube.
Another setback with notebook computers is the there can be various technical difficulties. First, not everyone has Internet or access to a computer at home, making it harder for them to do homework and study. It is essential that everyone has some sort of Internet connection order to have access to their textbooks. Also, the notebook
