THE EFFECTS OF AMMONIA AND VINEGAR ON RADISH PLANTS 2

Abstract
INTRODUCTION OF GROUP Plants are one of the most complex organisms; how they grow is very complex and it is important to see how they grow to even how they die. We first had to propose a question and test it to see if it was profound enough to test. Our group decided to see how different chemical substances affect radish plants, and which substance will kill the plant fastest. We planted 8 germinated radish seeds, then put ammonia in 2 of the plants, vinegar in 2 other plants, put both vinegar and ammonia in 2 other plants, and had the

We measured approximately 30mL of water and poured it into each pot. Next we measured the appropriate dose of vinegar and poured it on top of the soil of the “vinegar” pots. The weekly dose of vinegar was approximately 1 mL of vinegar per pot (only to the pots labeled “Vinegar”). We only put in the vinegar once a week each Friday. We then measured out the ammonia and poured it over the “ammonia” pots. We measured approximately 1 mL of ammonia, distributed a dose each Friday. After that we measured out .5 mL of ammonia and .5 mL of vinegar and poured that over the soil of the pots labeled “Ammonia + Vinegar”. These were added to that group each Friday. The group members took turns watering each and every pot every day except on weekends. We measured out the doses of water to make sure that each pot got the same amount of water. We also took turns pouring the chemicals

into the pot, making sure that each day they get the same amount, and that the amount of vinegar is equal to the amount of ammonia. The ammonia pots received the same amount as ammonia as the vinegar pots. This same process was repeated until the time was up and we were finally able to see the results and examine what had happened over the six week time-frame.
