If an employee is satisfied, then they will go above and beyond their work expectations. This in turn will give us better results in customer satisfaction and positive feedback.
Question 2 DrainFlow job design is the cause of employee dissatisfaction. The cause of dissatisfaction has to do with the lack of knowledge between the plumbers and the office workers. An example of this is when licensed plumber is sent to snake a drain. This leaves the more experienced plumber upset because they have done something that an assistant plumber could do, and now they have to upset the customer with a larger bill then they should have gotten. All the workers are broken up into four groups: plumbers, assistant plumbers, order processors, and billing representatives. Each job level is dependent on the other to get the job done right. According to the job characteristic model (JCM), the jobs at DrainFlow can be described by five core job dimensions: skill variety, task identity, task significance, autonomy, and feedback. Both plumbers and assistant plumbers have shown high scores in task identity, task significance, and feedback. Since the job design only consists of four categories, I propose that the order processors and billing representatives be more knowledgeable with plumber jargon. A binder needs to be put together with information and distributed to each level in the office. Or some enrichment classes can be held at each office to help everyone understand
