I am also a former student. I graduated from Albany before moving to and teaching in Texas, Georgia, and California. I moved my kids back to Albany after my divorce and have never regretted it. The classes are small enough for the teachers to give individualized attention to my children and any special needs they have. They get to know the kids and families and as a rule, truely care about them. Yes, there are always going to be personality clashes with certain teachers, that's anywhere, but four of my five children are currently enrolled there and all are made to feel that they count. The honors program could use some revamping but the Gifted coordinator is very approachable and looks for the talents from all the students. The testing scores are some of the best in the area.
The school is small but they join with other schools in the area for football and wrestling. Otherwise they have all the basic sports.
