I am former student of Meadowdale Highschool. The school itself is prestine, good looking, smooth. The classes are not too demanding especially with a block schedule, though longer classes can be taxing on some students.
The main problem to watch out for in this school is the administration, especially if you are a middle to lower class citizen. A particular member of the faculty (whom I believe does not work there anymore)was a huge problem, and everyone else besides the conselors and teachers kind of fall in the same line.
In one instance a female student who came from a wealthy family was extremely opposed to my fashion sense and social group, not suprisingly made trouble for me. She told the aforementioned problematic Ms. Cannon that I made a threat on her life. I did no such thing. After finally admitting to fabricating the accusation she was sent back to class. This is very disturbing to me because I have been suspended from school for less than what that girl did to me. She faced no reprecussions, and I was sent home for the day to 'cool down'.
The second incident involved more of the faculty, or rather a lack of their responsibility. A student aquaintence of mine told a few people how he wanted to rescue his girlfriend from her tryanical step-father. It was unknown to me the extent of violence he planned to unleash on this man. He asked for my help, to hide his girlfriend not to beat up the guy, so I said okay. Well another wealthy do-gooder female student took what this aquantince of mine said, and reported it straight to Ms. Cannon. Without questioning either one of us, she took complete faith in what the girl had told her and immeadiatley called detectives with her own hear-say story.
Regardless of my uninvolvement in the issue I was arrested on conspiracy charges without any substantial proof of my involvement. I can garuntee whole heartedly that I never disrespected the staff in any way. At first glance my motives were questionable, yes but only because of my dark attire. In that sense is it really my fault for being judged so harshly?
The bottom line is; If your child is not creative with no desire to be different from their friends and co-workers, and you have no problems paying bills, seeing movies, buying clothes, getting the latest cell phones, all while living in a 6 bedroom house,Then Meadowdale High School would be perfect for those families in the Edmonds-Lynnwood area.
Be aware if your child is independent, unique, and vocal about there individual ideas and beliefs DO NOT SEND THEM TO MEADOWDALE. It is very important to avoid the much unnecessary trouble the faculty will cause for you and your family. There is no court, no lawyer, no case strong enough to bring an end to the corruption in even the school district. Please take care, and I wish the best for those kids and families who deserve much more than what some people already have.
