Nashville School of the Arts, located on 1250 Foster Ave., is one of the best schools in Tennessee. There are students and teachers that walk down the halls singing, playing their instruments, paining a mural, dancing, taping a short film for their theater class, or getting warned by the hall moniter that if they swing a light saber at her head one more time they will get written up. Students and faculty at the school are all friends, and everyone's a bit odd. One of the first things you learn upon entering the school is that we don't all just sit around doodling and dancing all day. We have to take the standard academic courses as well as our arts classes, and we have to pass them with high scores. The standard academic classes are extremely difficult compared to other schools, and some of the arts classes are equally difficult. There are many opportunities to get extra help with any classes you may be struggling in though, and some of the teachers are willing to work with your schedule.
It's a rather small school, but every year there are more and more applicants. Every year we try to accept as many of the talented applicants as possible.
From the moment you walk into the school, it's an amazing atmosphere. Everyone loves the school, and the phrase you will hear the most when walking down the halls is "Only THAT would happen at NSA! This is a crazy awesome school."

The teachers at Nashville School of the Arts all have very big personalities. They're fun to be around, and become good friends with the students. Yet at the same time, their classes are much more difficult than normal public schools. They go over more material faster, and throughout the year will review it a little.

Nashville School of the Arts does not have any sports. There are a few things, such as track and wrestling, that students can apply for. Students that apply for these sports are put on the MLK Higschool sports teams. NSA has a gym, and a few compact bows for archery club. There is also a pool room, but it has been turned into a storage area for all of the school supplies.

Principal boB is the best principal EVER. Good rules, but also gets along with the kids. Only principal you will come across who spells his name backwards, wears converse, has Kermit the frog for his ID picture, and wears Superman shirts. Every available space in his office is covered with either the Muppets, Superman, the Beatles, or other random interesting objects. His favorite phrase is "I am the walrus". He has a lot of respect from the students because he doesn't run the school like a prison, and he talks with all of his student like they're his friends. So he doesn't have to enforce the rules as much as other schools since everyone just wants to get along with eachother.
