This is our third year at Centredale Elementary School and I am actively looking for another school. From day one there has been roadblocks and political agendas that obscure the focus on child education. There are some outstanding teachers, but they fall short on resolving issues both academically and interpersonally amongst the students in a timely manner. Furthermore the system does not offer the tools for keeping the parents informed on daily schedules, disciplinary processes and rules and regulations that are NOT in the manual. That is until there is a issue. It's a crisis management model.
The principal "screams" at any person who unknowingly drives up the road on the school campus. There is no sign that states you should not drive up this road. So instead of putting a sign, she would rather scream like a banchi at parents or visitors. The safety of the children is mediocre at best. The bullying of my daughter started in Kindergarten and we are now on the third year of safety issues in the careteria line, recess ( which they hardly EVER let the kids have, and gym class. Safety in the form of supervision is the real problem here, and the administration doesn't know when to admit it. They would rather have a strangle hold on kids behavior through fear and guilt, than working things through critically in difficult situations. A second grade teacher told me on Friday " safety" is very important for our kids. However,on Friday, she sent my daughter down to the office with a bully that I personally spoke to her about the week prior , and made it clear that they were not to be together UNSUPERVISED. My case in point.
