Although it's been 30 years since I graduated from East Senior High (1977), I will always be heard singing it's praises. I received an excellent education at East. I was so much more prepared for college than a number of my other friends from other schools. Back then, we were on the modular system. We had (13) 26 minute periods a day. This allowed us to excel at a pace catering to our individual academic needs. I was able to skip freshman English 101 as well as freshman Math 111 because of the high entrance examination scores that I received. This was largely due to the academic exposure and experiences I received while attending East.
East Senior High, as it was called in 1977, was an extremely comfortable place for me socially. There were never any major outbreaks of unrest or discipline problems. Most of the teachers knew the students by name. Although there were segmented groups throughout the student body, each group existed as an individual entity, yet respected the other groups without a lot of tension between them.
If I were to return to this area, my children would definitely attend this school. It may not be perfect for everyone.....but it was perfect for me.

Theater programs at East are amazing! We just put on the production of "My Fair Lady" and it was phenomenal! We are now in the middle of rehearsing for One-Acts, which are four separate shows each consisting of one act. They are going to be fantabulous!
