Not so fast... in talking with other parents, the special needs or special education seem to be done well by Ohio Connections Academy. The reality for others is this school is ridiculous. Teachers are unavailable for assistance or grading when at field trips or testing events occur (achievement and graduation tests, 4 weeks of the 2nd semester!). You must travel, sometimes an hour one way to these testing sites! The "normal" course workload is well beyond 6-8 hours a day. Some teachers are great but when you get into a difficult situation, there are no alternatives. No summer courses available to assist or catcup on subjects. Do not plan on Spring Break or Winter Breaks, sure the staff will take them, but you will be catching up on the workload. This is from a Jr and Sr High perspective, but you should definately explore other Virtual options before even considering Ohio Connections Academy. We have personally done public schools, private schools, home-school, and even another virtual school - Ohio Connections Academy is the worst! Another interesting thing was how they did Spanish courses, by hiring a part time teacher from a public school who never has time for Ohio Connections Academy students because of the demands of the public school responsibilities.
Don't follow the marketing, because they have good quality curriculim, it is the implementation that lacks. Don't just take my word for it, find families who have used it, especially in the grade or two above wher you plan to enter and get the real scoop... if you want a life beyond school (and I am not just talking about the student), think twice, no think three or four times before choosing Ohio Connections Academy.

Ohio Connections is hands down the BEST school in OHIO !!! The support you receive from this very special staff is awesome !!! No other school was able to handle our son's situation, and I was so pleased with the special education department and how willing they were to support our son's situation!!
