I moved to Glenwood in Dec, 1965. Fond memories. I'm a public school teacher. That foundation was laid at Glenwood.I didtinctly remember the strong male influence. Mr. Tucker, Mr. Griffith, Robert Jackson, T. Creekmore, C. Peterson. The neighborhood school was an awesome environment for community involvement.
My favorite teacher was Mrs. Staton. She was was my teacher in 3rd & 4th grades. I still miss her & I wish I could tell her how much she changed my life. I remember she lived in beavercreek because she invited the class out to her house for a swimming pool party once. I truly loved her.
Was a great school which gave students a chance to learn about the workplace while also completing their high school requirements.
Raphael's is an amazing school...they teach you sooo much and it is really hands on. I LOVE RAPHAEL'S!!!
What can I say? There is no better school around than Van Buren Elementary in my book. I grew up in Hamilton and I attended Van Buren from the second grade through the sixth grade. One of my favorite memories I have and often think about is when I used to stay after school and play in the gym. We would jump on the trampoline, tumble on the mats and just be ourselves. I still can smell the popcorn in the air. I loved all of my teachers and it's hard to say who was my favorite. If I had to...
