Educational Mission
The mission of the Cochran School of Nursing, is to educate men and women in the practice of professional nursing. In particular, the two year program is designed to award the Associate in Applied Science degree and to prepare students for licensure as a Registered Nurse. The dynamic curriculum fully integrates nursing and related theories with a full range of clinical experiences to produce sensitive, caring, and competent nurses.
The Cochran School of Nursing also sees as its responsibility the development of nurse leaders and expert practitioners. To these ends, patient assessment skills, the use of complex technology in care delivery, and critical thinking are fostered throughout the program. Further, the core curriculum framework lays the groundwork for future educational achievements and intrinsically is the basis for professional leadership roles.
