It is always the parents that are unhappy that comment on a site like this, which is too bad. Greenacres was, and I assume still is, a great school. It's diversity of income and background make it the most well-rounded of the Scarsdale elementary schools. The teachers and staff I experienced were pretty darn good. Two of my favorite people were the janitor and the head librarian. It was such a friendly, good natured, and nurturing environment. Frankly, I think it was a much better experience than the tightly-wound experience my children are getting. It didn't have ultra-fancy outdoor play qeuqipment when I was there -- we learned to use our minds and had a great time making up games. And I turned out just fine, smart as can be, as did all of my friends. And you know what? My friends from Greeancres are still my friends now at 40 years old. How many people can claim that from an elementary school experience?

Greenacres is a school with people who believe that because it is in the Scarsdale School district, it should be excellent. The education is mediocre and discipline is lacking in the classrooms. The teachers are unethical and the school is second rate. For the taxes that are demanded in Scarsdale, Greenacres is a true disappointment
