I do not like this college one bit. First of all, it is very hard to get an A in a class and a lot of the professors give out C's like water. Very few professors seem dedicated to their students and the college is very gloomy-looking. I met one Biology Professor who actually cared but he was leaving the school. The majority of the professors are extremely tough and they expect you to know a lot about the subject. One lady said that she gave 3 A's in the past 2yrs in a beginner english class (101). I was shocked because she stated that in order to get an A you have to write perfectly with not even 1 mistake. I found this impossible and got a C. The majority of my friends either dropped out or transferred. Very few stayed and they are about to graduate. I recommend that if you are in this university and you have under a 3.0 to please take heed and transfer. When you transfer, your GPA restarts which gives you a fighting chance to enter into a Master's Program if you're interested. I transferred from this University and I was at a 2.3 GPA. My GPA now is 3.6 and I have received 3 scholarships and 2 grants at my current University. I transferred in my Junior Year at York and it is never too late. I found my new University to be lenient with Professors that not only care for you, they also form relationships with their students and recommend them for higher education like Honors. I have never got less than an A in my other English classes and I know now that I am not stupid. The Professors at my new University also help you understand the material in a much better teaching method than York. You might see posters of CUNY having all of these scholars teaching the class, but I recommend a Private University and no I am not being paid for my comment and I would just like to help those who were once like me and thought they did not have a chance to succeed at college.
