My son has special needs. He was diagnosed with ADHD Inattentive type when he first entered 194 in the 4th Grade. I have been struggling ever since to get services for Bryan, even though I facilitated all the doctors evaluations with excellent doctors from Montefiore. My son was even held back in the 6th grade at my request, because he was still not receiving the necessary services and the school was not doing anything to provide them for him. I had to practically beg and plead to have services such as SETSS.
Therefore, my review of this school is very unfavorable.
Yes there are excellent teachers, such as Ms. Chan in ELA and Mr. Asad in Math. As far as the school administration, I am very unhappy.
Thanks to Ms. Santiago, SW, I was able to finally get my son started on some services at the end of the school year. The only benefit will come in September of 2009. And even them, he won't be able to get them in this school, which may just be a good thing after all.
Sincerely,
Disappointed Parent
