Sixth Street Elementary is the oldest school in the Silver School District. It was built in 1938, but is in excellent shape. With new additions its buildings are very comfortable and clean. It is also the smallest populated school in the District with approximately 135 students in grades K-5. The teachers are very experienced and caring. They put in many hours to ensure that their students achieve. The average experience for teachers is 22 years. All have met "Highly Qualified" status by the state of New Mexico. They have met ATP for the last 5 years as measured under NCLB regulations.
