It was an interesting time for me. I lived at 20 S. Main Street, next to the Garlands and across from the Katsakoris's and Gillespies. The Uptons were next to us. I moved the summer prior to my 5th grade year. I visited once in my life since then. Now I am a retired Marine LtCol. I can tell you that THAT'S a long way from what people expected of me then. But, isn't that the case with most? Mark
Gilger H Hood is the best school i've been to. I haven't graduated yet but since i've been there its the best. The teachers are great there. Especially the band director. She is awesome.
The teachers at the school are always looking for ways to get the students in trouble. Although discipline is necessary I feel the way the staff goes about handling situations is very wrong. Students do not learn from their mistakes by receiving detentions or suspensions. The staff also needs to teach the students what they did wrong and how to fix it. As a former student I felt like I was in more of a boot camp than a "quality place to learn". However, I do beleive some of the teachers...
The school is in not-so-good shape. The roof leaks a little. But the rest of the school is fine. People are complaining for no reason, even if they decided to build a new school, where would we put it and where would we get the money. The teaching staff is great, especially the gym, math, arts, and science departments.
I went to this school in first, second, and third grade. Now I am in seventh grade and doing well. After going to this school and moving to Florida and going to there schools I realized that this was my favorite school, and all my favorite teachers are here. Keep up the great job!!
Sincerly,
