I went to this school from 1st grade to 6th grade. The cafeteria does not have many food choices and the gym substitutes as the cafeteria. The library staff does not feel sympathy for overdue books that the children MUST sign out. Included with the library they have a computer lab. The headmaster has deep concern over childrens' safety. The doors lock automatically from the outside except for the front doors which are usually left open until winter-fall seasons. Also many children let in s that knock on not-the-front-door. They have no security cameras or water sprinklers in case of fire. The support staff takes deep concern with any of your childrens dissabilities. The playground facilities were updated a little over a year ago. However since than graffite has become an issue. The outdoor supervisors are limited, but the ones they have are great. Parents are scheduled to have two (2) parent-teacher-confrences throughout the entire school year. If your child is struggling in a subject, the teacher will call or write home. Huron Park E. has boyscout/girlscout activities and has latchkey (babysitting) before and after school. The classrooms are not air conditioned and have poor heating abilities. The classrooms are used to their fullest space, and all the classrooms have an average of five (5) computers on the back wall. All of the classrooms consist of a whole wall of windows for good summer-time ventalations. A few years ago the district tried to eleminate many of the bus routes. They claimed that many areas were withen walking distances; however they did not count obsticles such as streets, parks, ect. However that is fixed now, and busses are provided for field trips and outings. Huron Park E. is greatly intrested in your childs P.E. They hold yearly field day events. They have a running art and music programs. On an overall scale between one through ten (1-10) I'd give Huron Park E. a seven. (7)........
