I am a student on the basketball team of a school of whom has onceplayed a few games a gainst Roosevelt. On away games (at Roosevelt) it is sad to say (without any exaggeration at all) that I feared for my safety as just a visitor to the school. On our way in the building, there were a few questionable "characters" of whom intimidated both myself, my fellow teammates, and even my coach. While one of the games was taking place, we were constantly "booed" from the Roosevelt fans in the stands, and there were repeated displays of poor sportsmanship towards our team. Whenever our players got hurt, they would point and laugh. During one of our home games against them, they went to the second story of our school and were ripping down posters and artwork that were displayed. It is very unfortunate that there are kids in this world that sre taught by their parents to do such actions. Although Roosevelt was frowned upon by both our principal, the refs, and our athletics director, they were still encouraged to do as they pleased by their coach. Intentinal fouling, spitting, and punching were contents of not one of our games against them, but ALL of them. To those who have questions regarding Roosevelt and their sports teams...PLEASE! Stay far away from the school, students, and sport coaches.
THANK-YOU!!
