Hello, I graduated with a Wilbur Wright diploma. I attended M.W. during the second half of the day. I remember Roslyn, Susie, Clarissa and other cheer leaders. I dated a cheer leader named Charlene Ullah. It was a great time and school along with the best people.

Being on the left or the earlier side of the graduation dates, I found it very nice to read the comments of some that followed my era. I was part of the Wilbur Wright Era, and our hero was Hal Newhowser(Tiger Pitcher of fame), who a few years ahead of me.
I read a comment of another alumni that concluded 'her time in the vocational nursing program was the best thing that ever happened to her, work two weeks and then go to school two weeks.
I certainly agree with her! When I was sixteen years old, in the engineering program, I landed a job working on the B52 Bomber. The firm I worked for designed tools to build some of the parts, then built those tools, and then built parts in those tools for the first 27 B52 Planes every produced. Those planes have been recognized as the 'best planes ever built' barring none.
I was fortunate to begin as a detailer, moved onto a tool designer, then to a toolmaker, then to an inspector of tools, then to a parts maker, and lastly to a tool setup person for the production of parts.
I began in the drafting dept. on the two week schedule, and moved to tool making as a fulltime person working the afternoon shift. So I attended school for two weeks and worked atthe same time, then I had two weeks of only working.
My whole life was shaped by those three years of Wilbur Wright along with the on hands training.! I had the absolute best resune of a High School Graduate possible, and I had a 'full cycle program' in it. All before I was 19 years old.
I don't know if the current students have the vocational program available, but it was the best for me. Wilbur Wright prepared me and made possible all my days and ways!

Hi, all you guys are old er that is. LOL. I was a student for the grad yr. 1996-97. I was pregnant at the time of graduation and I had another child. He attended the school childcare. I really liked that service. We were allowed to eat with the children and observe what they were doing. I also was in NROTC for a very short time. I remember when my Army mom came to visit and the man over the class was wondering if I would make it as a career, but I said heck no; just my luck we will be at war soon. An soon came, well, to soon. I guess I predicted right. I never knew how to march. I would just blend in and pretend. I also tried my hand on the marching band, wearing the lil skirts. But by that time I was revealing a bump in my belly, hence walking across the grad stage soon to be due. I was never great with names but I think it was a pretty good school. I most certaninly recommended this school for mothers to be than the surrouding schools made for pregnant girls. Murrey-Wright gave girls the opportunity to function in a normal school setting as well as gave you care for your children. That was pretty cool before everything changed to the all boys school. But I'm sure the boys are getting just as much of a great opportunity that the girls did that were with child. Thank you for giving me the chance to speak highly of Murrey Wright.

When I attended Murray-Wright, I worked in the office as a switchboard operator and office assistant. I later became a co-op student and my 1st office position was with City National Bank. A lot of students at this time were co-ops and 1 of my fondest memories was waiting the Warren bus to go downtown to work and having enough time to stop and enjoy lunch at Flaming Embers. At a cost of $3.99, you could get the best burger, baked potato and salad. Also, making a stop at Otto's popcorn.

When I attended Murray-Wright, it still had vocational programs (e.g. nursing, auto mechanics, cosmotology, food service, etc.) It had thee finest certified nursing programs in the state. My entire senior year, I was able to work two weeks in a hospital and go to school for two weeks. The valuable experience and skills I gleaned from that is priceless. Students would most certainly benefit from such a program today. I sincerely appreciate every teacher and staff person that touched my life in a positive manner there.
