I was saddened to learn that Van Raalte is closing. I attended K-6 from 1946 through Jun, 1953. I later graduated from Holland High and Hope College. The Holland Public Schools provided me with a first rate K-12 education. Many thanks to all the current and former teachers, as well as my classmates and their families who helped make my time at Van Raalte fun and rewarding. Some of the Van Raalte grads will be in Holland in Sep for our 50th reunion from Holland High.
I would not give many of the teaching staff at Navigator School a positive review. They seem to have lost touch with the emotional capabilities of a ten year old. The teachers there would never consider showing a little kindness or concern. It is a complete boot camp environment. Both of my children received really good grades and I still consider it the worse school that they have ever attended. i love cory elementary school cause i went there and they are better than any other school i know i rate them as one million percent!

My childen have attended the school both since K. They are now in second and third grade. I think the teachers and staff are exceptional. They care for the children and make every effort to provide a safe and productive learning environment.
