I am the parent of a 1st grader. This is his fourth year at JGE, he attended to years of preschool there plus K and 1st grade. I believe that JGE is an excellent school for average students, with a lot of potential, however their program is not well developed for children with special needs. My son has high functioning autism and I have found the staff at JGE to be under trained and not familiar with current information on teaching children with autism. I have also met with resistance when working on my child's IEP. The school has been resistant to trying new methods. I feel this school has great potential but at the moment, I am sad to say, it it not performing to the best of it's ability.
