There are some very great teachers teaching at Dupo HIgh School and among the great ones are Norma Asadorian, Kelly Walsh, Davey Sue Raker, Mr. Malone, Steve McFall,Ms. Thompson, and the list could go on. MOst of their teachers are dedicated to their students and want them to succeed. I think the school is better now that they Got rid of Dr. Heerboth. He was mean to the students and just not a very nice person. I think that things are probably better underneath Ms. Winfield. As far as the extra ciricullar activites there needs to be more. While I was there they cut band in half, they took away home economics, art, etc. It was the worst thing that could have ever happened. If they made the school a school worth going to and had things for everyone to do I think their drop out rate would drop dramatically, and test scores would rise. As far as sports I think that is wrong that they got rid of Vernon Ferry as Head Girls basketball coach. He was a great coach and never did anything to lose his position. Ms. Puckett seems like she is finally get used to the position and the team seems to be doing good, but you dont just get rid of someone because your incharge and you want to. That would have been Dr. Heerboth. I was glad they waited till after I graduated. I think the team would be benefical if they had him back as a coach. I do think more activies need to be added and more parent involvement. I think that they should try to make the parents get involved because without their involvement they students just won't care. I was lucky and had a parent who was there for everything, and I think parents should be there for their kids even if it is a night away from the bar or something. Well that is pretty much what i think.
