I have seen the traffic situation at Waiau for three years now and commend the JPOs and female traffic attendant. What I don't appreciate is the male traffic attendant (assume a teacher) whose presence does not change the congestion whether he is there or not. His arbitrary rules that apply to parents other than his friends are unwelcomed (insisting that cars keep moving around the small parking lot while the child is being delivered to the classroom in my opinion only causes more congestion). Also, what happens when there is a single parent? I know there is no miracle pill to fix the traffic situation but this is not working. What I'd like to see is a program where the senior students are assigned to help the younger ones to their classrooms. Maybe this has been looked at but I would think this family setting would help Waiau.
