My friend, Jerry, and I walked into the library to pre-order yearbooks for my two nieces and me. The librarian knew my name. She repeated it with a smile. On another occasion, I was there to pay the balance of my nephew's lunch. The head cafeteria lady gave my friend and I hot fresh baked chocolate chip cookies better than our mamas'. I visited my niece's first grade teacher, at the time, and copied one of her bulletin boards which received many compliments and accolades in my elementary...
I love Whitesville Road! Their library is the best! The teachers are wonderful!
Long Cane is one of the best schools I have ever been to. I really loved my teachers a lot and I was very sad to depart from them to go to that awful GNMS. Long Cane was like a home to me and I loved it very much. I would gladly go back to it if I had a choice.
I had 2 children at the school. Only one had a problem with her teacher for one of the 2 yrs, but when we requested a conference, we weren't given the run around...credit for that. The ASP program was ok, but I'll have to admit, Mr.B was what made that school great. And, the chorus program is wonderful too. The school tries to involve the parents, and for that, its a good school in my opinion.
I think the school overall is great. Some of the teachers are wonderful! Some, on the other hand, are not very good at all. One thing that really bugs me is how expensive the yearbooks are! The PTA needs to look into getting a different publisher.
