Way back in my JFK days, the Hippie movement was just dying down, but lots of us tried to hang on to it,myself included.Big problems were just becoming an issue, like drug abuse, drinking, and especially racial issues. Some days were a battle just to get through the day in one piece! But,JFK was blessed with some awesome teachers and guidance counselors, probably the best in the city.
The staff CARED about the kids and many of us would never have made it had we attended any other school.I remember JFK fondly, and would like to mention the late Mr. Justin Milliun, the best guidance counselor EVER!He passed away a year ago, peacefully,in his sleep, but it was still unexpected, and a great loss to those of us who loved him.
All these years I have kept in touch with him,and with my favorite teacher,Jim Pettit.Thank you Mr. P.,and Bless you Mr. Mill, you are forever in my heart. JJ.
