Ponus Ridge Middle School in Norwalk Conn. is a wonderful school. They have people their to help you, (if you are a student like me), or your child if the need Special Ed. Teachers are in Tip-Top shape! Teachers are very nice and are able to stay in touch with parents most of the time. Some such as teachers in the green team Language Arts Department will email you if your child is mis-behaving in any way. Hallway monitors are staff, not students! Hall monitors are there to help you if you are ever lost. Also, they will stop any student who is leaving the class early or after the bell for passes. School Safety is 9 out of 10, after all no school's safety is 100% perfect. PTSO is excellent! They are always supporting our school, in about all of our activities. Local Transportation is okay, normal transportation is by First Student, NOT Laidlaw, who was purchased by First Student. If you have an after school program, play rehearsals, or any other reason in which you have to say after school transportation is good; You will either have parents or relatives pick students up, or you will take the "Wheels Bus", otherwise known as the city bus home, or to where ever you may stop, with one time parental consent. The Library is filled with wonderful books in which your child may pick out to read. Your child will "check out" their book on to their account. You are given approximately two weeks to read your book. After your due date each day you will be charged a late fee of $0.05(5 cents) a day. You are given the option to pay back your fine time by time, if it is large. This money is used for school purposes only. You may also renew a book until you finish reading it. Our main problem can be Substitute Teachers at times, depending on who is subbing. This school a is wonderful middle school for children who are in/entering Grade(s) 6,7,& 8. Summer School is Zero in my column, because I know nothing about that; Other than that I would rate this school 92% out of 100% (92
