SWOS is great! I love it! It is truly amazing oh also the teachers are truly AMAZING!!!!!!

I am a former student, When I attended SWOS, it was still a small school, I love that school to the end. Myself and fellow students help pave the walkways and plant tree, create pieces of art, and we were and family community. To here that the school funds are being cut pains me dearly. The school is not for the trouble or the moms, it is for those who need more than a book and an enclosed classroom. How many schools do you know that are hands on to give their students real life skills. My favorite subject was art, I visited the school a couple years ago, it was beautiful and I am happy to see the others student caring on the life of the school. Keep it up the economy will get better and the school will progress.

SWOS is the best school ever! i just finished my freshman year at SWOS today and i couldn't possibly ask for a better school. all the teachers enjoy what they do! and all the students seem to like going there. everyone there is kind of troubled at the moment... our school is getting a 20% cut on funding this coming up school year. we will be losing our free on-site child care, our art program and even a few teachers.... nobody is happy about it. many of the teens with childern will not be able to go to school next year because they cannot afford the funding for regular child care.... many people in montezuma county are under the misconception that only high school drop-outs and juvinile delinquents go to SWOS but not ONE of the students there are bad in any way. SWOS is a place for the open-minded people to go(not just students but teachers too). SWOS gives misunderstood people a second chance. yes, many students there have been in trouble with the law, but there is just as many or more who have'nt. there is honestly LESS bad stuff such as drugs and violence at SWOS than at the Montezuma-Cortez High School. one of the most important rules at SWOS is you fight once, you are booted out permanantly. SWOS is amazing. there is no better school out there.

i think of south west open high is the best alternative schools of all time if there was s scale to ten or 100% i give it a millon thumbs up i had a fun time there and alot of memories the trip to mexico was a blast first time ever going out of the country. its been one good exiciting ride i had a fun time at swos but the prom was even better for a dear freind we lodt this year rest in peace kai lynn craig you were right she was right ill never forget you above all the rest its been fun ill see you later peace out ed lee aka native
