My name is Diana. I graduated from Valley Career College in April of 2005. I am a certified medical assistant. I received my externship training from a local pediatric medical office. I wanted to work in a doctor's office, but the longer hours were a drawback, since I am a single mom with three young children and cannot afford daycare. I started working at my daughters' school as an aide to receive some income. The opportunity arose for me to apply for a position as a health aide at the school. The woman that I went up against for the job had been working within the district for many years. I thought that she was the natural selection for the job. I was interviewed, and based on my skills, I got the job! The training at Valley Career College opened up the door for me to move into a great job with unlimited potential for growth. It is especially wonderful, since the job fits my lifestyle. Upon first graduating, I was disheartened that I was not putting my skills to good use. Now I use the valuable skills that I learned at Valley every day. It gave me a level of confidence in myself that I did not have before. I feel well-equipped to handle situations that will arise daily in my job. I am very thankful to the supportive staff for their encouragement and tireless devotion to helping their students succeed in their endeavors.
