To Lykita
I have no knowledge of the school or teacher you are referring to, but in reading your post, I wonder if your child has had a major change or traumatic event occur int he last couple of years. Has your child been through a change of residence (house or town)? Has their been a divorce? Abuse?
There might be more than just the school/teacher affecting your child.
Do you work on school work with your child after school?
Have you considered a different school or classroom?

I have a child that attends Bonneville Elementary School. I am a very concerned parent with a very bright child who has always done well until recently. The past two years, my child has struggled to maintain a certain grade partly due to lack of concern on his part but mainly due to his not being motivated during classroom time. I most certainly blam this on the teacher because although I know kids will be kids, sometimes it takes a certain type of person (teacher) to handle all different kinds of children that may have certain needs. My concern is not that my child can't do the work, its being motivated enough to want to do the work. I believe that just because you graduated with a degree in education does not make you a good teacher. You can not just group all children together and expect the same reaction, because some children may require certain things that others may not. As an educator, I feel it is their direct responsibility to make sure that child understands what he or she is doing in that class, and if not, they should not stop until he or she does understand it. After all, if you are a teacher do what you are being paid to do. It is my fear that my child will just slip through the cracks because some teachers will not take the time or have more concern for children that may need it. Sometimes children have a natural ability to understand things put before them, and sometimes other children require more time. As a parent, I will not stop until my child gets what he or she deserves, and that is an education with promise from a teacher that is concerned with whether he or she understands the work, not from a robot that just stands in front of the class and dictates to children all day.

I have had 3 children at Bonneville Elementary School, 1 is still there, which I wouldn't have them anywhere else. Not only are the teachers and staff structured and disciplined where needed, it is also fun and caring when appropriate. It has been a pleasure and never a burden to send my children to school at Bonneville... Thank you to all that work there or have worked there in the past to make a child's experience special.
