I was born in 1946 in Blytheville and lived in Blytheville most of my childhood. I attended Central School in the 1950's. I now live in Missouri and I am a retired Registered Nurse.I remember the years I attended Central fondly. I still remember some of my teachers (Mrs Haws and Miss Rene Norris. I loved my teachers. Miss Norris taught us (her class)so much. She taught us to knit. We knitted squares and then Miss Norris put them together to make a blanket which was donated to a needy family. My mother was expecting a baby so Miss Norris taught me to knit my new baby brother some booties. She had special projects for us that was in addition to the regular school work. Miss Norris taught us French. I memorized the French Revolutionary Song that she taught us a few lines at a time. What a wonderful teacher she was. If Central still has teachers like Mrs Haws and Miss Norris the students of Central School are very fortunate. I visited Blytheville a fews years ago and walked around the school yard. The buildings have been changed around and some relocated but so much remained the same. I felt like I was home again.
