I cannot say enough about this program, this school, these teachers, this group of amazing people that are here to help our kids!
My son was enrolled in regular school and struggling. Bringing home D's and F's, depressed, angry, sullen, moody and just plain miserable. Last year (2008-2009) it was suggested by his councelor that he apply to the SEARCH program. I was at my wits end on how to help him, so we applied.
Thank our lucky stars they accepted us.
He is now doing sooo much better. He passed last year and even asked me if he could return to the SEARCH program this year. And on his first day back in school, he had such glowing things to say about the teachers, all smiles and "AWSOME" came out of his mouth multiple times!!
There are smaller classes, more individualized assistance from the teachers, great care in making sure no one feels threatened or harassed, and amazing contact between the teachers and myself! You can probably tell that Mom loves them too! They work hard on making sure my son has all the skills he needs to pass AND that he does it with a positive attitude!
Everyone in this program, from the office personnel to the Lunch Lady, even the custodian and students, make this a wonderful environment for my son to learn and grow into a nice young man. It takes a village to raise a child, and I am glad I have these people in MY village!! Thank you all!
