I can remember being taught how to pronounce the word Marbury by my grandmother. My great-grandfather and grandfather helped build the Marbury High School that my mother and I graduated from. Now my oldest daughter attends a much newer version of Marbury. I hope my youngest will be able to say she graduated from MHS too.
When I graduated, seems like our senior class was about 46 folks strong. We were the largest graduating class ever to pass through the doors at that time. The teachers actually had to split our class into two groups, because there were too many of us for one classroom.
Back then the whole school, K-12 was all in one building, hard wood floors that were re-finished every summer. The school heat ran on coal. My great-aunt ran the lunch room, and how could we ever have complained about those hot lunches, with their huge fresh yeast rolls lovingly prepared everyday?
Now-a-days, seems like people can't leave the cities fast enough to get out here and enjoy the kind of life we all took for granted. I hope that quality of life is available for a long time to come.

I believe that Marbury School is more that bricks and morter, it is a thread that has woven generation after generation through out time together. It need to be keep that way for generations to come. It is a family tradition to graduate from Marbury, so therefore lets ban together as one voice and fight for that tradition!
Because "WE ARE MARBURY"
