My son is a sophomore at Jess Lanier and he was instructed by one of his teachers to leave his bookbag (the required clear or mesh book bag) outside in the hall of the class room along with the other students in the class. As a result, his book bag was stolen and the items left outside in the hall. Now, my concerns are that the books may have been stolen as well and I would be responsible for payment of those books. Also, his personal items were stolen out of the book bag and the book bag itself. He took the book bag to avoid having to go to his locker and avoid being late for class. I am requesting the proper authority to respond to this email.
Book bags are expensive. This one cost $22. I should not have to suffer the loss when he could have taken his book bag into class or just arrived at class late after going to his locker. What do you suggest..

Being the only public high school in Bessemer,it serves a variety
of economic groups and families. We want a more nurturing environment for the kids. I am very satisfied and I believe that there are a lot of parents who are also satisfied with the educational standards at Jess Lanier. I, being A parent who hold a position on the PTA(public Affairs)think that Lanier deals with versatile youth issues very well.
