my child also has dropped grades. ive been trying to contact the school to no avail. tonight im going to write a letter to my childs teacher asking her how do i go about contacting someone to find out there homework assignments. the only thing this school has contacted me about was things that required money. field trips, jump rope for heart, sports, cheerleading, dance and so on and so forth. This school has NO communication with parents. A child has A's and B's her entire school life....suddenly she has All F's and a D.....she has no idea how it could have happened. As a parent, I watched her complete her homework and leave home with it. I watched her study for tests....even helped out when needed. How can a childs grades drop so drastically and not a single teacher contact the parent? No progress reports for this term came home with my child.....are there not discipline actions taken to make sure that these reports are seen by the parents....ESPECIALLY for those students who have less than satisfactory grades ON the report? I dont understand. What is it with teachers today? When I was in school, EVEN highschool, if my grades were to have dropped like that, my mom would have known right away. Teachers used to care about their students and how they performed....it IS a direct reflection of their work right?
I am so disappointed in the system right now. I blame not only my child for not making sure all her work was completed...but I blame the teachers as well for not keeping me informed. My child is only 11 years old, has never made low marks for conduct....behavior is not an issue. What is going on here?
