If you have a college student (or are one) you'll probably enjoy a few excerpts from letters home.

Lifestart offers for sale videotapes and books on pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting infants. You can get good information online, however, in the summaries of every chapter. There is also a free "ask the nurse" feature for your pregnancy and baby questions.

This site has step-by-step information for 8th grade through college students and their parents. It covers choosing a career, selecting a college, obtaining financial aid, finding a job, and much more.

MPP is a California project which offers counseling for adults and children who are underachievers. It's worth coming here for the list of common characteristics if you suspect your child (or you!) may suffer from this problem.

Mothers at Home is a nonprofit organization backing mothers who nurture their families fulltime. They have published two books and put out a magazine, summarized and available to order. Good support source for at-home moms.

The MultiMedia Mom wants her child and yours to have access to safe, high quality software. She offers reviews of children's videos and CD-ROM titles for parents and teachers, and invites you to contribute your opinions and support.

Included here are articles on parenting children from birth through age 20. This excellent source also contains information on gifted and other special needs children, as well as academic testing, learning at home, and health and nutrition.

This site provides parents with a wide range of resources gathered from many of the world's best known child-rearing authorities. Their Newsletter is on line with features and book reviews.

NetDay is "a grass-roots volunteer effort to wire schools so they can network their computers and connect them to the Internet." This site will help you volunteer to wire a school in your neighborhood!.

How to balance socialization and education in gifted children; a great resource for parents.

The Option Institute is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering an optimistic view as a means of improving relationships and life on the planet. This site summarizes the books, tapes, etc. and programs they offer in the area of parenting.

Newsweek offers 600 software reviews with information on content, age appropriateness, running requirements, and quality. There's an excellent Views and News section where one educator and mom reminds us that no review is absolute: some products she and her kids love were panned.

The emphasis here is on parents-to-be and parents of infants and small children. Birth alternatives, breastfeeding information, and adoption are among the many links offered. A very good source if you're expecting.

ParentingMatters, a part of LifeMatters Magazine, tries to provide ways of parenting that work as a "long term assist in raising self-reliant, responsible human beings." They have links to excellent articles with titles such as "Respectful Parenting" and "Handling Kids' Aggression." They have a Parenting Book List, lists of related subtopic links, and a bulletin board. Great spot.

In addition to a catalogue of Parenting Press publications (books aimed at problem solving for parents and for children), this site has parenting tips and great summaries of books offered. Well organized for access.

The people at Parenting Q&A offer "immediate answers to parenting questions." Browse through their 35 categories or ask a specific question. They really are a tremendous support for "parents and professionals who work with families."

"The Parenting resource center on the web" offers advice on parenting advice, products, and the chance to ask questions of other parents. This chatty but well-organized site was set up by a couple who both wanted to stay home and parent.

This visually jazzy site links parents to many locations of interest in an upbeat way. It offers tips and invites interaction through such offerings as Parents Picks (consumer response to products, books, etc.)
