Set up and run by a dietician, this site features information on healthy eating, including menus, shopping lists, nutrition information, and more.

A disclaimer at the opening of the site makes it clear it's really intended for physician use only...still, the amount of information here is impressive, and useful to patients as well as doctors. They're still in the early stages of adding content, so there are many empty categories. But what's there is well done and well thought out...our only real complaint is live links that took us to too many "under construction" pages.

This page targets the college student and has health information on women, men, nutrition, drinking ,and sex. There is a lot of information on contraceptives, pregnancy, and STD's with the option of sending in a question.

This is the place to start if you need foot care information or products. It includes a podiatry service locator and chance to "Ask the Foot Dr." as well as the Foot Care Direct information source, links to other foot care sites, and shopping for foot care products.

This is a neat site if you're interested in medical technology. You can go to diagnostic imaging or radiation services and check out explanations and pictures of the different machines.

Links to a huge number of health, wellness, and disease sites on the World Wide Web. If you're looking for information on health, here's a great place to start.

This is a great magazine on bio-medical science. It's full of articles on current issues and new research. It does require registration, but it's free.

In addition to resources for healthcare professionals, this site offers parenting resources and links to sites of interest to parents of children of all ages. Many subtopics, extensive information, and chances to "ask the Dr."

This is a massive index of web sites specifically related to health issues. You can browse the 26 categories or perform a search for a specific keyword. If you are even remotely interested in health and medicine issues you will find this site very useful.

Tons of links to just about every health, illness, medicine, and alternative medicine topic you need information about.

HealthAnswers lets you search topics for specific questions and then find out the answers, look up health centers, or (for a fee) send your question to a nurse or counselor who will respond in 48 to 72 hours. They also have an area on health news and bulletin boards on a range of subjects.

What your heart is, how it works, and how to keep it healthy form the topic of this interesting site. There are related enrichment activities, resources, and a glossary as well. Lots of good information, easy to use.

The International Food Information Council has established an extensive site with food safety and nutrition information for teachers and students, consumers, and reporters.

In this excellent site, Iowa State University Extension brings you food safety news, a set of food safety lessons, foodborne illness information, plus related government, education, and law resources. Don’t miss Ten Steps to a Safe Kitchen where you’ll learn about the most germ-laden thing in your house!

This service offers assisted searching in MEDLINE and other US National Library of Medicine databbases. It allows users to map search terms to refine a search. Service is partially free (depending on computing resources utilized) and requires a user ID and password.

This site, aimed at kids in grades 3 through 5, offers activities and encouragement in the area of good nutrition. There are lesson plans in the teachers’ section and activities in both the parents’ and kids’ areas.
