An overview of the foundation and its mission, information on grants and fellowships and how to apply, and full text of a number of NSF publications are available here.

This site includes statistical reports on US science and engineering.

You can link from here to hundreds of museums, botanical gardens, conservation sites, and libraries around the world. Many of these are truly spectacular. Sources are divided by continent and arranged alphabetically.

A thorough overview of the site on the main page makes navigating this resource very easy. Education, programs, exhibits, and information services all have their own viewpoints. Cutting edge natural history (including articles and exhibits about possible life on Mars) makes this a great resource.

The Navy's Department of Research available online

The largest single center of information on science and business, this site features a huge wealth of information. To keep from getting overwhelmed and hopelessly lost (though the site is well organized), we'd recommend taking the virtual tour to get oriented.

Bill Nye the Science Guy brings science to life by describing fun experiments kids can do with things around the house, helping them understand complex scientific theories in an easy to grasp way. Hands-on learning is a big focus, with a wide range of experiments and fun. Why didn't I have this guy for a science teacher?

Brought to you by "a NASA-sponsored partnership of museums, researchers and educators," this is a collection of Web science resources in such topics as space science, light, and weather. Includes complete education sites, pieces you can put together, and lesson plan helps.

This site's designed to help children develop a curiousity for and a love of science. Demonstrations and explanations of why things work they way they do, and lots of great information at kid level. Fun for adults as well.

There are some fun things here for educators and parents. You can explore science-related resources and connect with schools and educators. Colorful and easy to navigate.

Part of The Mining Company, this Science and Nature for Kids site has a lot to offer. You can chat to other kids or teens, enjoy the weekly theme articles, or make use of the vast resources gathered here and indexed by subject. If you have a question not answered in The Nature Guide, you can "Ask the Nature Guy."

Put together by a high school biology student, this is an impressive list of anatomy, animal, biology, botany, environmental, and chemistry sites, plus virtual labs, online magazines, and science fair resources.

Like its real-world counterpart, the Smithsonian Institute Web site features a huge amount of information on an almost infinite variety of topics. An excellent resource, and a neat way to virtually tour this national treasure.

This site details a space exploration simulation program set up for 4th graders in the Coshocton, Ohio, public schools. Detailed in word and picture, it looks like an excellent effort with great student interest and involvement.
