This publishing company specializes in high-level business information on technology and entertainment. The online version of their print magazine offers several up-to-date articles each month. The site loads quickly and uses frames well: worth a visit just to see what's new in technology.

This is "A Guide For Those Who Want To Know 'Just Enough To Have Fun!' " Well organized and easy to read, Internet 101 provides good basic information and allows you to choose areas where you'd like to learn more. This would make a great tool for teachers and students.

This site is dedicated to sorting fact from hype in the case of general media stories about the online world. It's not dedicated to protecting the Net from critics, however: there are some instances where criticism is well deserved, and those are noted. A well balanced view, and a voice of reason as well as a great resource.

MediaFinder says, "If it's in print, it's here." They offer search tools in a number of print media categories such as catalogs, newspapers, and magazines. Thousands of periodicals list their subject, subscription, and circulation information in summary for your perusal.

The San Jose Mercury News offers one of the best known and most professionally executed online newspapers. This electronic version offers a glimpse of the future of both news coverage and online publishing. It's subscription-based and often cited for its excellent coverage and adaptation to this medium.

Contains interactive tours of its California or New York museums. You can tour its monthly exhibits and series.

This is NBC online, with news, sports, and information on series and specials. Includes a local affiliates directory--great for targeting stations where you'd like to intern or find permanent employment.

Here the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) provides information for netizens and NAB members. Learn about the new Parental Guidelines or look for an employer/employee on the employment services page. They also provide both e-mail and snail mail addresses for getting in touch with them.

The latest news and information from conferences, workshops, and more are available for professional press photographers. No actual photographs, which we found surprising, but the site serves its purpose of catering to members and keeping them up to date

The Public Broadcasting System offers an excellent source of information on its programming and its place in the world.("If PBS doesn't do it, who will?") Sections for kids, shopping, science, news, and more.

The Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News offer great local news stories, archives of favorite reporters and columnists, weather, sports, and the chance to voice your opinion.

The Photojournalist's Coffee House offers wonderful photo documentaries on various topics confronting our society. A sampling of the topics includes teen pregnancy, homeless people, and clowns. The photos are accompanied by narratives that help to make this a moving experience.

An online consultant uses this site as his home base, and he offers his regular columns on a number of issues relating to publishing and news services, and how the Internet impacts them and provides them with new opportunities...and challenges. There are a lot of links to examples of online newspapers and magazines as well as some discussion lists. Very informative site for those in the news and publishing businesses.
